I don't know about where you live, but here in the U.S. and I KNOW in many parts of Europe everything has changed from our government to our economy.  Many long time breeders have simply gotten out of cats completely or some like myself, have cut WAAAY back just in case our entire economy collapses.  I want to be able to feed and care for what I have if that happens...both human and animals.

I joined in 2002 and it's been a wealth of knowledge for years, with all aspects of breeding and showing Persian cats; many lessons learned here from fellow breeders, an eye opener at times, regardless of wheather I agree or disagree with the opinions expressed. 
 
I remember receiving a daily digest of 15 to 20 messages daily, with ups and down in volume... Even though attachments were not allowed! Now I can hardly remember when was the last time a subject has been discussed. I mean, really discussed, not just mentioned or brought up. I was only lurking back then, now I try to post about my breeding programme advancement at times, whenever I feel it is of some interest.
 
I have actually left myself most of the lists I used to be part of; not that I was on many anyways, but I couldn't handle anymore the lack of discussion on topics that were of my interest (nothing against anybody, just my personal opinion and I do respect others). I found the amount of crossposting impossible to handle for example, not to mention the poor "netiquette" in some of the postings, etc.
 
I am loyal to Persian-Fanciers no matter what, but now missing the "good old days" of lots of funny, thoughtful, sometimes heated discussions on a myriad of topics. Am I getting older? LOL! Not really, I'm only 48 and my schedule is still pretty busy as it was back then. What has it changed then?
