[PER] Carlos Quinto, chocolate classic tabby & white male.‏ [8 Attachments]

[Attachment(s) from Arturo Rios included below]

Big challenges may require un-conventional solutions, so here it goes, and this is a one time opportunity, won't do it again.

This is an offer for all resposible, honest, reputable Persian breeders worldwide, who may be interested in participating in starting the expansion of the cinnamon color in the Persian breed: I'm offering Carlos Quinto, a show quality chocolate classic tabby & white Persian male for breeding, FREE OF CHARGE, to a maximum of fiftheen proven, non cpc, non exotic, CFA registered Persian females. Litter is to be registered in TICA, with the possiblity for all kittens to be registered in CFA individually, as they will be sixth generation Persian. Please bear with me as I try to spell it out for you Sonrisa

Since all offspring would be either chocolate or cinnamon carrier, you will have many exciting possibilities of colors. You are expected to breed them responsibly: outcrossing is essential and you are expected not to breed between them (as they are littermates), or back to them (mon/dad to son/daughter, uncle to nice, grandson to grandma, etc); any of the kittens in this litter that you decide not to use for breeding, should be petted out, not offered to other breeders (you can offer them kittens from the next generation instead), once you're done breeding them you should pet them out as well; again, you can do what you think is best with this kitten's offspring, but your kittens sired by Carlos Quinto should all leave your house already altered. The kittens sired by this cat will have a unique cattery name and the pedigree will clearly show what you've done with tem, and if you've bred them as you were asked here. You may, of course, breed back to your own lines, that's the whole point. Simply put, nothing crazy or complicated, just common sense: generational turnover, breeding away from Carlos Quinto, and outcrossing to improve, is the main goal; inbreeding is the big no-no, unless you're breeding back to your own lines.

Carlos Quinto is a fifth generation cinnamon carrier (DNA tested) born Oct 2009, pedigree http://www.easypedigreedb.com/perlore/?2;RIVIK%20LITTER
He is the only male carrying cinnamon in the litter and, as you can appreciate from his photos, is a heavy, cobby, well balanced cat; low to the ground, short tail, small ears, great tabby markings, good coat factor (he's shaved down in the photos, re-growing coat), smooth tophead with no bumps and sweet expression (when I can get him to relax and open his eyes).

I travel away from home way too often for work, on long stays, so I could not possibly do it myself. Therefore, I'm humbly asking for help from a person I respect, admire, and want to trust unconditionally: this offer stands only if Lorraine Shelton agrees to take this cat, do all necessary screenings to confirm/clear genetic make-up/overall health and, most importantly, receive/select/approve the interested participants, as it is limited to 15. Furthermore, the cat is not proven, hence I won't be using him myself, but I have two littersisters and other offspring from his mom to carry on with developping my own lines. The cat will be neutered after/when all matings are done and offered as pet to a wonderful forever home, possibly to be shown as an alter in TICA.

Lorraine is the moderator of this list, hence if you're reading this post, I understand she's accepted (fingers crossed) my invitation to take on this challenge and I'll be contacting her to arrange the delivery of the cat to her as soon as possible. She will then issue a statement/post at her earliest convenience, with the details as to how the selection of candidates, and the mates, will be carried out, as they will also have to be screened, travel back and forth to Southern California, etc. I'm only asking her to ensure the mating takes place while the girl is in heat, the queen should be returned to the breeder immediately afterwards, unless she agrees otherwise with him/her, that's why I'm asking for proven females. She will establish the conditions and fees to cover her costs/expenses, and the female will have to be leased to her for one litter in TICA, which is simple and does not compromise your queen's ownership. I will be signing the litter for the sire, Lorraine and the breeder for the dam; the new cattery, named "Forward", will be registered under Lorraine's name and used for these matings only (my name or Cattery name won't appear in your litter or kittens' registration papers). Offer ends as soon as all 15 matings are done, or in Sept.2012, whatever occurs first. Breedings will not be repeated; as this is at not charge, we are expected to do our best to avoid complications and properly address situations, but we all have to assume the natural risks involved. All tests/expenses deemed necessary by Lorraine for the matings to take place, and/or for the participant breeders' peace of mind. are to be covered by them, as part of the fee paid to Lorraine.

Let me please insist, you need to contact Lorraine, not me, if your're interested in participating in this unique, making history opportunity. I'm sure she will select/decide based on her vast breeders/pedigrees/lines knowledge, always aiming to producing the best possible quality in the starting lines for cinnamon Persians. Let's do this!!!

Kindest regards,

Arturo Rios

Please note: This is an offer made in good faith; changes to this offer are not expected, but if any, would be agreed between Lorraine and myself and posted on this list to be considered valid. No exceptions to any individual breeder otherwise. It's got to be a "take it or leave it" deal, or it is not going to work. I'm kindly asking for everyone's understanding and support. It was not an easy decision for me to make in the first place, but I trust it would help give these amazing colors in Persians the best posible start, a start the cats deserve, hopefully free of the issues/challenges that are currently affecting the chocolate/lilac Persians.
