I will be expecting my first litter of kittens June 29th and I am very excited. I have been looking into what will be needed for queening.
This is the list I have come up with so far but I do have a couple questions in regards to what would work best.
Scale (I have one purchased from Wal-Mart that will go up to 10lbs used to weigh food)
Towels (would face cloths, hand towels or paper towels work best?)
Petroleum jelly & rectal thermometer (will a rectal thermometer for a baby work?)
House hold thermometer to ensure temperature remains above 85F
Heating source (hot water bottle, heating pad, heat lamp... what works best??)
Alcohol to disinfect
Unscented dental floss in case the cord needs cutting
Sterile surgical gloves (does any one know the best place I can buy these from?)
bulb syringe
Iodine
Tube feeding supplies (I have syringes and tubes)
Milk Supplement (what would be best for me to have on hand?)
Watch
Pen & note pad to mark arrival time, sex, weight, colour, markings and whether the placenta was expelled
Vets phone number and emergency number
Am I missing any thing? I just want to ensure I have everything on hand.
Thank you in advance!!
