Re: [PER] Persian cat longevity

Just my experience:

My oldest died at 17.
I have at the present time two "seniors" (as we say in France):
Ma Griff Majesty the Queen, 14
and Tehy Night Rider, 13
Rider is very very healthy and I think (hope) he still has some happy years to live.

Unfortunately I lost some persian cats when they were younger: tumors, kideney failures.

Wikipedia state average lifespan of the Persian cat is 10 to 15 years. What is your experience been? I have had Himalayan pet owners looking for kittens have their cats live upwards to 17, 19, and 20 plus years if they have great genetics. I've only been a breeder since 2002 so most of my kitten are at the oldest age now of 7 years old. My oldest cat I own is a Foxy kitty named "Midnight" (on my past stars page) who was 15 last December and was born in 1995.
