[PER] Re: Cattery closing

Melanie, it can get overwhelming easily. I HAVE to keep my cattery very small, no more than about ten, in order to be able to enjoy it and for it to stay fun. And it can be VERY discouraging..the people out there, buyers, other breeders etc. People are human and make lots of mistakes, and can be very difficult to work with when selling a cat. Raising cats is time consuming, hard work, and expensive!! At times exhilarating and full of discovery, and at times heartbreaking making us ask the questions of why?

I think we should all be MORE KIND to one another, and less demanding, more truthful, and understanding, these are live animals, not stuffed animals without heartbeats. So ANYTHING can happen when dealing with cats, especially man made breeds that are so precious and fragile at times, like the Persian is.

They are beautiful animals, but we all need to be more agreeable and work together instead of against one another in the cat fancy! Kindness is what makes this world tolerable!!! :) I hope all goes well for you Melanie, and a break might be just what you need.
